Description

A Global Renewable Energy client is looking for WTG Commissioning Inspector (Senior Staff) for their offshore wind farm project. The WTG Commissioning Inspectors role will include surveillance of commissioning works primarily on pre-assembly but occasionally also offshore. The WTG Commissioning Inspector will report progress status, conduct quality inspections, register (HSE, Quality). This 8 month freelance role is anticipated to start from 1st July 2017 up until approx. 28th February 2018 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. Offshore working hours will be 12hrs/day, 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.
Responsibilities:
  • To monitor commissioning activities - Coordinate and perform commissioning walk-downs together with supplier.
  • Ensure that outstanding works and quality issues are detected and reported - Report in NCR system on relevant quality issues.
  • Monitor mechanical and electrical completion.
  • Ensure that work is carried out in compliance with the project HSE rules and local legislation - day to day supervision and management of commissioning personnel/contractors assigned.
  • To ensure that the work is organised and done according to the commissioning manual.
  • Ensure that tests are carried out and commissioning work documented according to rules procedures and templates.
  • To ensure that progress of commissioning is reported in daily progress reports.
  • To contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties performed in effective processes.
  • Take part in site meetings.
  • Verifying that the commissioning is documented according to the commissioning manual, rules and guidelines.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years work experience within wind power and or commissioning.
  • Recommended 1 year experience working in a similar position.
  • Must have all valid GWO certificates for offshore works.
  • MV0W 8 MMW - V164 would be beneficial.
  • Experience in quality inspections of wind turbines.
  • Must be Computer literate MS Office (EXCEL).
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
Special Provision:
  • The Consultant must bring his/her own PC with MS Office 2007 software and iPhone mobile telephone.
  • The Consultant must bring his/her own PPE equipment.
