Description

Our market leading client is currently recruiting for an Oracle Payroll Consultant based in Manchester.

The Payroll Technician will be responsible for providing a specific escalation point on technical payroll query resolutions for the team and ensuring the implementation of the new Oracle Payroll solution is completed in a manner which meets the needs of the function.The Payroll Technician will be responsible for planning, managing and controlling payroll processes and activities, ensuring all payrolls are processed on time and all audit controls throughout the payroll cycle have been adhered to.

Key responsibilities
* Continually develop payroll processes and controls to reduce errors, improve accuracy and mitigate risks and manage the payroll cycle ensuring all processes and controls are completed on time and resource is planned accordingly
* Manage annual processes eg pay review and tax year end, liaising with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely implementation
* Processing of payroll run and all other Oracle processes within the cycle, rectifying errors as they occur and escalating if appropriate as well as checking end of cycle financial post payroll reports
* Maintain knowledge of payroll related statutory legislation required for the role, comply with requirements for filing statutory returns
* Periodic reconciliation and submission of RTI returns in compliance with legislation
* Plays a key role in identifying payroll risks, risk management interventions and identifying the impact of these to ensure a continuous drive of improvement within the delivery of the payroll service
* Manages required changes to the Payroll System and will play an integral part in supporting the implementation of a new Oracle Payroll technology solution
* Provide SME support for small and major changes with responsibility for testing the changes before being applied to the payroll system and SME support for the operational teams through the change.
* Liaison with technology teams for technical issues and solution management.
