Description

Harvey Nash's public sector client is recruiting for a Procurement Advisor on an initial 6 month contract. The role will involve providing an effective and efficient strategic procurement service, including specialist advice, carrying out of tendering and contract activities, ensuring the organisations procurement activities comply with European and National requirements, best practice and best value.

You will support the development of complex specifications and EU procurement projects, including leading tender evaluation of complex requirements. The position will also require an understanding of the role of contract management and working closely with customers to manage contracts and ensure delivery of value for money. This role would be well suited to a Procurement Advisor with experience in the public sector and requires supporting, planning and leading significant projects.

The essential skills are:

* Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) (or equivalent)
* Experience in a procurement environment carrying out tendering and contract work
* Knowledge of procurement legislation, tender and contract strategies
* Knowledge of procurement financial and sustainability issues, negotiation, partnership working and collaboration
* Experience of OJEU rules and regulations
