Description

Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables

  • Lead delivery of all operational communications to support the introduction and launch of a new regulatory driven initiative
  • Partner key programme stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of workstream aims and objectives, milestones and individual deliverables. Translate these into innovative communications plans for each relevant division and ensure interlock alignment with the broader programme communications plan.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor and manager, responsible for delivering and writing key operational and creative communications to help build awareness understanding and advocacy, clearly articulate the detail in change communications for colleagues who will be affected by these changes, and minimise reputational risks.
  • Contribute to developing and delivering strategic programmes, channels and events for leadership visibility,
  • Utilise project and change management experience, manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders concurrently to deliver aligned communications.
  • Produce clear and concise colleague communications from scratch and/or turn technical and legal material into compelling user friendly copy, ensuring reputational risks are minimised.
  • Oversee the tactical delivery of communications using the right channel mix.
  • Help to write Q&As for colleagues and manage any ongoing internal queries from colleagues on the detail of the project.
  • Support complex sign off and manage stakeholders through this process.
  • Identify, escalate and mitigate reputational risks as appropriate.
  • Develop appropriate measurement strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of communications and baseline the communications activity for each workstream to prove the programme's success.
  • Work effectively in a Matrix structure, deliver through others when required, prioritising personal workload and resource.

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • With a primary focus on colleague communications, the role holder must possess strong internal communications experience, which must include expert level writing skills, with experience in writing both strategic and operational messages.
  • As the subject matter is centred on introducing and embedding a highly complex new market concept, the ability to craft creative and innovative communications which will engage hearts and minds is a must.
  • Stakeholder management expertise, communications planning experience and previous experience of working within the financial services industry are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written comms is essential
  • Experience of working both in a strategic comms function and communication programme delivery roles on major change programmes
  • Excellent awareness of communications strategies with specific understanding of digital customer awareness
  • Excellent ability to engage senior stakeholders across divisions and work with marketing, communications colleagues at all levels and build rapport.
  • Experience of large scale programmes (ideally digital or Payments) including use of social media strategies, tools and techniques.
