Electrical & Mechanical Project Engineers - 2 Month Temporary Contract - Immediate Start

We are recruiting for one of the nation's largest commercial companies who provide an extensive range of construction services including construction management, general contracting, design and build and preconstruction.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for both Electrical and Mechanical Project Engineers to join our Construction team on a 2 month contract based in Keynsham Bristol. The project is Building Services; Mechanical, Electrical Install, and Commissioning.

As the successful candidates you will assist the Engineering/Design Manager with the evaluation of design packages and preparation of construction planning documentation, liaises with the construction team to provide guidance on design, specifications and installation practices. You will be responsible for maintaining certain aspects of the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager/Engineering Manager, by managing the process of submittal approvals, coordinating the timely delivery of materials, maintaining schedules and budgets.

  • Management and organisation of working parties to meet Programme demands
  • Inspection and testing of Electrical systems
  • Inspection and testing of Mechanical systems
  • Witness testing and sign-off with the Client
  • Progress Reporting
  • Attendance in planning and coordination meetings
  • Assists in the development of construction plans and work package plans,
  • Support the project delivery teams, verifying the work of others, providing technical support
  • Assists Project Manager/Superintendent in the review and coordination of the Loss Prevention, Sustainability Action Plan and Quality Control Programme
  • Develops submittal log, participate in main contractor co-ordination meetings, subcontractor project orientation meetings, communicate and coordinate submittals and coordination drawings with subcontractors and the Superintendent
  • Actively participates in subcontractor project orientation
  • Conducts meetings with subcontractors, assisted by the Project Manager and/or Superintendent
  • Serves as the onsite quality manager for assigned trades by verifying subcontractor deliveries meet approved submittal requirements
  • Attends and participates in meetings with Architect/Engineer and owner representatives, provides information and assists the Project Manager in the preparation of progress reports/meeting minutes
  • Distributes proposal change documents to subcontractors/suppliers and assists in collecting pricing and/or prepares change proposal requests for internal pricing review
  • Ensures all clarifications, changes, directives, RFIs, etc., are updated on the "as-built" drawings and are fully coordinated with company supervision and all subcontractor/suppliers
  • Building Services Test and Commissioning will be essential
  • Contribute to the accurate and efficient provision of progress and productivity reports weekly and monthly to senior management, in accordance with company procedures
  • Provide concise and accurate feedback on project performance against estimate to the estimating function (where required)
  • Responsible for submitting owner required close-out documents and assisting subcontractors/suppliers in scheduling owner required training and documentation

You

  • Time served Electrician, Technician/BMS/SCADA/BSRIA/C&G 2394&5/IEE 17th Edition (Electrical Bias)
  • Time served Plumber/Heating Engineer/Technician/BMS/SCADA/BSRIA (Mechanical Bias)
  • Up-to-date relevant knowledge of engineering and of industry best practice, appropriate to the relevant discipline, is required.
  • Strong knowledge in the industrial arena including; oil, gas, chemical, processing, nuclear, defence, renewable, and power, with strong interpersonal skills including both written and verbal and a high degree of computer literacy.
  • exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and make necessary changes, using customer input to make improvements, and meeting/exceeding internal and external customer expectations
  • display high levels of integrity that demonstrates support for the company values and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectation
