Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector in the UK. We are currently recruiting Researcher for 9 months initially with possible extension.
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Key Tasks and Deliverables:
- Working alongside other researchers in the Behavioural and Customer Insight Team (BCI) and with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and agree research-based approaches to meet those needs
- Design and implement research projects promoting fit-for-purpose research methods.
Undertake at quick pace a range of different kinds of research including but not limited to:
- Use project management tools to monitor the progress of research projects.
- Analyse and interpret data to identify patterns and solutions, including quantitative data and focus group transcripts.
- Produce detailed reports on research findings and present results to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Work with other researchers in BCI to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience of participatory and qualitative research methods through coaching, formal training and other methods.

Essential
- Experience and expertise in undertaking research in a wide range of areas with diverse types of participants, including businesses and hard-to-reach individuals
- Experience in all stages of the research process including evidence review, research design, delivery, write up and dissemination
- Experience applying innovative qualitative methods such as participatory research, innovation and ideas generation, immersion, co-creation and co-design, ethnography, and customer journeys.
- Experience applying traditional qualitative research methods eg depth interviews, focus groups, and survey design and delivery
- Excellent qualitative analysis and reporting skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable:
- An upper second class (2.1) honours degree in a research related discipline such as Social Research, Quantitative and Qualitative Research, Consumer Psychology or a similar field
- Member of the Market Research Society or similar professional body
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of training and developing colleagues
- Experience using statistical packages such as SPSS, Stata, SAS or equivalent
