Job Description
The Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for managing assigned projects from the portfolio of the Desktop Services Team. Including but not limited to project tracking, project reporting, facilitating project status meetings and supporting the delivery strategy for the overall team. The candidate must possess strong leadership skills because of the challenges inherent in enterprise project delivery. Both technical depth and strong soft skills are necessary to excel in this position. Building and maintaining good relationships with internal and external customers is key to success.
Education/Experience
- College degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering preferred
- PMP certification required.
- 2-4 years of Project Manager experience required
Responsibility level
- Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
Skills
- Must possess strong aptitude for problem solving, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to concisely present work with attention to detail along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Finance, accounting, BA or computer science background required in order for incumbent to accomplish analytical functions which position demands
- Effective organization and planning skills required; knowledge of software applications Microsoft Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Project, SharePoint and Visio)
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required)
- Knowledgeable of Enterprise Desktop Services such as Email, Print, SharePoint, Instant Messaging, Hardware, Software and File services highly desired
- Experience working as part of a PMO or Merger Integration Team highly desired
- Certification from PMI required and ITIL a plus
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects from Inception to Transition as part of the Desktop PMO
- Build and maintain project documentation that follow the guidelines for project delivery
- Track/build metrics that align with the departmental objectives
- Maintain/build project plans that details the status of current projects, key milestones and project risks
- Consult with product leads, management, vendors, and engineers to drive the project needs and business requirements
- Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems
- Provide guidance to product leads on project engagement and portfolio guidelines as they are established
