Operations Engineer - Scala Cluster - Asap - 31.12.2017 - Amsterdam
For a large bank in Amsterdam I'm urgently seeking an Operations Engineer with experience in working on a Scala Cluster. You will join a team of 4 in Amsterdam and will travel occasionally to the other teams in the UK to liaise with them.
Our client has recently implemented a Big Data Solution based on Spark/Hadoop. The first project has recently gone live and many more are upcoming. Therefore our client is seeking a new specialist to join the Big Data team in order to support the increase in business.
As it's a small team your role will be diverse and will evolve over time. As an Operations Engineer you will sit next to the Developers and keep the cluster up and running. The team consists of highly skilled professionals from all corners of the world who interact with stakeholders from IT, Risk, Compliance, Commerce and Operations.
The organisation is self-supporting, running its own applications and hosting them from its own data centres across the globe. IT development, maintenance, support and IT operations are provided by three regional organisations (IT Europe, IT USA and IT APAC).
What we are looking for:
- Fluent English Speaker
- Experience within financial services/banking
- Proven track record as an Ops Engineer
- Experience with Scala Clusters
- Knowledge of Spark/Hadoop
