Description

Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector in the UK. We are currently recruiting Communications & Engagement Specialist for 3 months initially with possible extension.

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Context of the role:

  • The Engagement Team play instrumental role in delivery to the CCG:
  • Engagement - the post holder will provide support for engagement and involvement with the public and patients. Designing and delivering events and coordinating input into community activities, supporting the overall programme of self-care and empowering people an communities.
  • They are responsibly for day to day communications for the CCG including liaison to and from other CSU communication and engagement colleagues.
  • Strategy and plan - They are accountable for researching, creating, writing and delivering communications and engagement plans for the CCG in agreement with them about how this is done (eg it might be undertaken by a subgroup/committee and the account lead has a facilitate role or in others the manager may undertake more of that role.)
  • Monitor, measure, manage and report resources for the CCG including adjustment to plans, keeping an eye on Key Performance Indicators for engagement and communication and alerting to risks for delivery to senior managers. Production of regular reports agreed with the CCG.
  • Advising, counselling and issue busting operational issues with communications and Engagement activity including acting as guardian of local communications and engagement policies.
  • Media Relations - working closely with the local media to build local relationships, monitor stories and trends and integrate this knowledge with a wider system news to provide a seamless and whole picture for the CCG.
  • Public affairs.stakeholder relations - supported by colleagues, the post holder will orchestrate and facilitate local briefings with stakeholders in writing, meetings and presentations.
  • Internal communications - responsile for creating the support the CCG with excellent internal performing orfanisation. The post holder will work closely with other NHS and public sector communication leads to netwok and create partneship working for deliver wherever possible

Job Summary:

  • Support teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
  • Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of tasks/projects by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis communications and stakeholder management.
  • Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination witha range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects
  • Be a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or quivalent training in communications and engagement.
  • Evidence of commitment to on-going personal development in the field of communicatios and engagement.

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a communications and engagement team.

Knowledge:

  • Evidence of core communications and/or angagement skills such as:
  • Planning and project coordination.
  • Writing and proof reading
  • Handling enquiries - telephone, written.
  • Knowledge of social media channels and key social media skills eg responding to social media posts, scheduling and posting.
  • An understanding of the full range of CSU communications and engagement services and how they work together.
