Description
The successful candidate will join the Safety Engineering function as a Safety Engineer.
The primary role of the successful candidate is to ensure that all our clients products and services comply with the required legislative and business requirements, the main activities will include:
- Undertaking of Hazard Identification and Analysis.
- Undertaking of Safety Assessments.
- Writing in-depth safety Engineering appraisals and reports, including Safety Case reports.
- Providing safety advice to other Engineering and other functional departments.
- Creating and maintaining a robust Hazard Log.
- Undertaking analysis such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
- Liaison with suppliers in order to obtain supporting Safety data.
- Responsible and accountable for delivery to achieve contractual requirements.
- Undertake safety evaluation of Engineering designs.
- Liaison with customer representatives.
- Working with customers to ensure equipment is ALARP.
- Supporting customer safety management panels.
Additional Information
Qualifications/Competencies Required
- Have a proven Safety Engineering track record (desirable).
- Familiar with UK MoD Safety Standards such as Def Stan 00-56 (desirable).
- Familiar with tracked vehicles (desirable).
