Project Controls Manager

A Project Controls Manager is required to work on a six month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Glasgow.

This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK Defence business.

Overview of the Project Controls Manager contract role

Responsible to the Naval Ships RN-OPV Head of Programme for providing an integrated, accurate and timely control solution across all levels the RN-OPV scope of work within Naval Ships ensuring compliance with Naval Ships business process and LCM best practice across, but not limited to, the following areas -

  • MWAP performance reporting
  • Develop and maintain the project WBS, OBS and RBS
  • KPI identification, maintenance and upkeep
  • Project, and business CSR content including escalation to joint client review process
  • Baseline change coordination and approval.
  • Site and office timekeeping and administration (reporting of actual costs)
  • Milestone management and reporting
  • Define and upkeep of the PMP
  • IBR coordination and delivery
  • Providing assurance and intervention in the successful delivery of the QLA rolling wave planning process

Key skills required for the Project Controls Manager

  • Excellent Process awareness and application across the breadth of production discipline
  • Extensive Knowledge of Control, R&O, C&TRA, Change Management.
  • Highly developed Analytical Skills and be capable of assessing detailed information
  • Extensive knowledge of the product and Shipbuilding processes
  • Ability to train/coach and performance manage the team
  • Budget Control/Finance Management

The role is based in Glasgow - Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh
