Description
Responsible for the development, implementation and review of the Council's housing strategy, delivery and enabling programmes, the housing asset management strategic client role, and partnerships with developers and housing service providers, maximising opportunities to attract additional resources to the borough, working closely with funding partners and regulators to ensure the Council is well positioned within the wider national, regional and sub-regional strategic housing context.
Housing strategy - overseeing the preparation of including analysis of housing need etc.
Seeking an individual with the analytical skills to commission a stock condition survey of HRA stock, oversee the analysis and work with colleagues to develop a 30 year business plan and 3-5 year capital delivery programme
Development/enabling - experience of work with Registered Providers who develop new housing supply including maximising the use of the Council's Right to Buy receipts to facilitate delivery
Seeking candidates who can offer the experience and skills of a good Head of Service, able to look at the detail to ensure the Council is well positioned.
- Candidates MUST have worked at Head of Service level with significant relevant experience
- Ability to communicate at a senior level
- Considerable Experience of working with Senior Managers in a complex organisation
- Demonstrable experience of major strategic economic development, community planning and development issues at senior level
