A National Waste, Recycling and Environmental Management Company.
Purpose and Responsibilities
To assist the Environmental Data Manager in monitoring to meet the requirements of the Environmental Monitoring Programme in compliance with the Permits. This involves spending 90% of the time out in the field gathering samples and taking readings, at four sites across Essex and Kent, all year round.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Ensure Site Is Compliant with Environmental Legislation; Liaise with the Environmental Data Manager to ensure all field monitoring is undertaken at the landfills and monitor landfilling operations and report as necessary.
- Ensure Data Recording and Reporting is Compliant; Undertake and record as necessary on-site analysis of water and leachate samples and maintain store of sampling resources to undertake monitoring
- Manage Contracts and undertake project work when required.
- Manage All Internal and External communication and Documentation; To complete, file and secure all required paperwork correctly and To download data from gas analysers and similar, and ensure data is in the correct format for importing into the company database.
Essential Experiences
- A Minimum of 2 years experience as an Environmental Technician, Monitoring Technician, Environmental Chemist, Site Chemist etc.
- Experience in working specifically with Landfill, Leachate, Gasses and Water.
- Excellent Knowledge of Environmental Permitting Legislation
- A Valid Driving License is essential
- An Environmental Degree is desirable but not essential
- Superb Communication Skills and Analytically minded
