The system globally by traders, sales traders and controllers to manage all of the firm capital commitments or risk trades.
The way it is used by different desks varies but collectively does the following:
- Show all current and past risk trades
- racks PnL of all risk trades automated PnL allocation ( Cash or Programs ) or by manual entry ( ETF and Options )
- Allow traders to confirm trades and their PnL
- Captures quotes ( eg blind quotes )
Your role on the project will be to lead a team of 3 junior KDB developers, mentor them and design and implement new features which will allow adoption of new flows coming from multiple desks. Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast pace environment is essential as the role will require an ability to talk to traders and liaise with other development teams for management of upstream and downstream data.
Knowledge of kdb+ is essential as well as core Unix skills.
