Our prestigious automotive OEM based in the Midlands is seeking a Senior Programme Buyer on a long term contract basis. The ideal person who is assertive and can work in independently, possessing excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of management

Senior Programme Buyer

Position Description:

Senior Programme Buyer within Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) - responsible for providing a value driven global supply network which enables the delivery of Special Vehicles and Accessories. Purchasing has its own Programmes team which works with the SVO Buyers along with the SVO and Core Stakeholders to deliver SV Branded products. In order to support the SVO Cycle Plan expansion, this role will be responsible for the management of SVO programmes from to VP and ensure that deliverables throughout the programme are met. This role requires stakeholder engagement at most senior levels within the company, including Programme teams, COC Programme Purchasing teams, PD, STA and MP&L, and assertiveness to ensure that processes are enforced at all levels.

  • Strong project management, business acumen and analytical skills
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • IT skills, excel, word, Powerpoint

Experience Required:

Experience in purchasing and/or programme purchasing

Experience Preferred:

Experience in automotive desirable but not essential.

Additional Information:

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Management of SVO programme to ensure purchasing deliverables are met.

Approve PDL and PMXU categorisation of commodities.

Create and maintain programme tracker via Aps Broker

Attend PST meetings (Engineering Meetings and report programme status to senior management at LMM and CPAT meetings

Liaises with COC Buyers to ensure accuracy of information and successful delivery of Programmes

Ensure Core GSP evolutions and training is followed in SO

Own and update all project documents and issue reports to seniors based on set key performance indicators

Build, develop and grow any relationships vital to the success of the project

Coach and Mentor new on-boarding and Graduate intakes

Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time Key Interactions
