Description

World Class Defence Organisation based in Bolton is currently looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Engineer/Manufacturing subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract.

Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rates are being offered by the department.

Contract Duration: 6months + (very much long-term and ongoing thereafter).

Security Information:

Please Note you must be eligible for SC Security Clearance (unfortunately due to security restrictions for this role, the candidate will need to be a British National with no dual nationality and must have resided in the UK for at least 4 of the past 5 years).

Quality Assurance Engineer/Manufacturing Job Description:

To provide independent assessment and assurance in a Complex Weapons manufacturing environment that Manufacturing and related processes are applied across all projects.

To provide professional support and advice on all aspects of quality within Manufacturing UK.

Provide support on quality and process development and identify and implement sustainable

Process improvements to existing methods and processes.

Support Manufacturing UK in the identification and reduction of project risk or issues associated with process application, process effectiveness or compliance.

* Provision of professional support and advice on all aspects of quality within Manufacturing UK; apply quality expertise to critical business issues to support business excellence, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
* Provision of quality assurance assistance to Manufacturing UK in support of manufacturing excellence including development and delivery of quality awareness and other process and quality-related training.
* Supporting Manufacturing UK on all programmes to achieve cost, time and quality targets.
* Assessing and controlling the Product Assurance Quality processes and the resulting outputs.
* Assuring the Company Business Management System is correctly tailored to and implemented in Company production programmes, and providing the appropriate level of support to improve the effectively of processes used by Manufacturing UK.
* Confirm through a programme of Independent assessments and audits that processes and quality requirements are being successfully implemented, applied and improved.
* Provide reports to Management that identifies the outcome of audits and issues.
* Monitor the progression of any improvements from audit activities and the timely closure of identified issues.
* Delivery of First Article Inspection reports in support of Industrial Validation Activities.
* Maintaining strong links with Quality Assurance colleagues across the company(UK and Overseas) to enable dissemination and achievement of Quality Objectives within Manufacturing UK.
* Support the development and implementation of the Process Effectiveness Review Programmes.
Role requirements (skills, training and qualifications)
* Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21.
* Qualified to minimum HNC/HND in relevant subject.
* Quality professional, experienced in process-based integrated management systems & business improvement in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
* Quality Audit experience required.
* First Article Inspection experience desirable.
* Extensive knowledge and experience of EN/AS9100.
* Planning and organising skills to ensure multiple tasks are prioritised and monitored to deliver set objectives.
* Capability to identify sustainable business improvements & ensure effective implementation.
* Recognise and understand internal and external customer requirements and respond to them.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
* Recognise and understand regulatory and certification requirements, and respond to them.
* ESD training.
* Some travel (UK) may be required.

Skills/Experience:

* Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21.
* Qualified to minimum HNC/HND in relevant subject.
* Quality professional, experienced in process-based integrated management systems & business improvement in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
* Quality Audit experience required.
