SAP Basis Consultant
Overview
- Provides support in the field of operating systems, databases, SAP applications, communication components based on his/her wide range of IT knowledge.
- Expert level in specific area of SAP Technologies
- Autonomously manage troubleshooting of complex issues, change management - planning and coordination of complex changes, problem management - analysis and solution of complex issues
- Detailed knowledge of project, transition, transformation management and related activities
- Cooperates with cross-platform/unit concepts, security of systems and data protection
- Communication with internal/external partners and customers
- Detailed consulting and support for customer and colleagues, participates in demand analysis
- Trainer and coaching abilities
- Develops/initiates/influences strategies and mission-critical decisions within his/her department/unit
- Collaboration or further development of ICT scope of services as well as the initiation of optimization measures for highly complex landscapes, international customers
- Detailed service awareness of customer core business processes, customer contracts and SLA
Accountabilities
- Deliver services/solutions to clients in agreed quality and quantity structure according agreed contracts (OLA, SLA, SA, DA) and internal KPI.
- Provide technical solutions for existing project issues
- Personal accountability for assigned customer SAP systems
- ECG membership
- Drives on the job development of assigned Junior SAP administrator/Trainer and coaching abilities
Technical scope
Engineering technical tasks:
- Implementation of release upgrades, runbooks creation
- Implementation of EHP upgrades, runbooks creation
- Implementation of migrations
- Homogeneous system copy - ABAP and Java
- Heterogeneous system copy - ABAP
- RCA within problem management
- Workload and performance analyzes - ABAP, Java and DB
- Unicode conversion
Consultancy tasks for customer:
- Implementation of heterogeneous migrations
- Provides new services/solutions for customer
- Setup of new services/solutions for customer
- Design of technical landscape architecture.
- Creation and updating of standard technical service design.
- Development of standard service extensions
Management scope
- Basis awareness about cost/value analysis
- Planning and coordination of tasks within service chain
- Reliability and primarily conceptual and strategic responsibility
- Coordination of subteam of SAP administrators
Requirements
- Min. 7 year of SAP Basis operation
- Analytical thinking
- UNIX, Windows, Database administration overview and knowledge.
- Perfect level of communication skills and presentation skills
- SAP Technology overview and knowledge
- Experience with standard SAP implementation activities
- Customer orientation
