We are recruiting a General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance Operations team in Farnborough.

The role will run for 6 months and will be responsible for delivering a range of general ledger accounting activities during a structural transition.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

Reporting to the Regional Controller for UK and Europe the role will work closely with the site accounting lead on a day to day basis and will take ownership for delivering a range of general ledger activities during a 6 month transition period. The position will suit a proactive, detail focussed, flexible team player who is comfortable working in a change environment.

Duties will include:

  • Setting up and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and associated controls for accounts that have recently been transferred into the UK team from a shared service centre
  • Month-end journals (accruals and prepayment) preparation and posting
  • Supporting bank clearing and reconciliation
  • Intercompany processing and reconciliation
  • Supporting fixed asset register maintenance
  • Ad Hoc analysis and reporting
  • General transition support

PROFILE

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be an ACCA, CIMA or equivalent studier (mid-stage or higher) or qualified accountant
  • Have previous finance operations experience (preferably in the areas of balance sheet control, intercompany and fixed assets)
  • Have a proactive and flexible attitude, and a proven track record of taking ownership
  • Be a team player who is comfortable with change
  • Have strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience of MARS ledger an advantage
