Role Overview
- The client is currently delivering a key digital Transformation Programme for the client and is seeking to recruit an experienced ICT/Transformation Programme vendor manager
- The successful candidate will join a fast-paced Vendor Management Team in a project-based environment dealing with a variety of stakeholders across project teams, administrative functions, vendors and the customer
Key responsibilities
- To give guidance for project managers (PMs) to produce high quality SOWs and ensure that competitive quotations are provided by vendors
- To implement appropriate and consistent SOW/SLA governance procedures
- To facilitate the resolution of risks and issues as they arise
- Ensure all vendors are effectively engaged, classified and mapped to programme requirements
- Ensure adequate contractual agreements as defined by the client are in place with each vendor needed on the programme within the required timeframe to ensure on-time project delivery
- Work with the client procurement administration and buyer teams to make sure POs are approved in a timely manner and work with PMs to track deliverables against vendor invoices received
- Ensure vendors fulfil their obligations, including meeting deadlines, achieving required quality of delivery and exchange of information
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders including PMs, customer contacts, vendor account managers and technical teams, partner SI, internal the client teams and executives
- Represent the Vendor Management Office (VMO) professionally as required at programme, project, management and governance meetings
- Ensure a consistent VMO message is given to project teams and vendors alike
- Resolve and manage conflicts and risks between all parties as they arise and raise escalations to VMO Lead when needed to mitigate impact on programme deliverables
- Challenge errors and inefficiencies where seen, offer constructive solutions and consistently focus on working to deliver to schedule and programme milestones
Critical Experience
- 5+ years' experience of programme/vendor management (preferably in the IT or telecom industry)
- Highly experienced in working on SOWs/SLAs and leading commercial engagements
- Experience in tracking engagements on a daily basis and producing reports in excel
- Ability to identify, influence and implement improved engagement and tracking processes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Leadership skills, and a high degree of creativity, innovation and self-motivation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to push-back to project teams and vendors as and when needed
