Global Digital Wealth Operations Lead

A Leading Financial Service are looking to hire an experienced Global Digital Wealth Operations Lead

Purpose of your role

The Operations Lead will be accountable for defining and delivering the Operating Model for the new Global Digital Wealth service within the business. This includes the initial Operating Model for the day 1 launch as well as the longer term evolution and growth of the business.

You will be required to:

  • Define/validate all operational capabilities required to deliver Global Digital Wealth for day 1 and longer term
  • Determine how and from where these are delivered, ie what is central managed versus locally delivered
  • Plan and implement these services for day 1, including identifying and managing resource up-lift and up-skilling
  • Plan and implement evolution of this operational model to support the scaling business and cross market expansion.

You will ensure the core business goals are understood and inform the operating model. You will work collaboratively with solution architects, product leads, oversight teams and the delivery teams to ensure that the operating model is aligned with the solution delivery.

The successful candidate will have experience leading and implementing operating models in a wealth manager.

As a senior member of the team you will be expected to drive innovation and continuous improvement, demonstrate leadership characteristics and display high degree of emotional intelligence. You will work in a small, empowered and co-located cross-functional team based in London.

Your key accountabilities

  • Lead the definition, planning and implementation of the Operating Model to support the firms Wealth Management aspirations for day 1 and the longer term evolution and scaling of the business.
  • Identify, shape and bring your knowledge to bear on wealth specific capabilities required to make Global Digital Wealth successful
  • Own key artefacts and metrics related to the evolving operating model - capability Matrix, resource spreadsheet, organisational structure, cost and scale drivers, implementation plan
  • Ensure the above are aligned with the wider set of programme artefacts such as the proposition, solution design, business case, and actual delivered solution
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of dependencies, deliverables and issues. Identify and manage any risks, issues, dependencies related to the operating model design and implementation
  • Work with all impacted teams to define and embed new capabilities and resources for day 1 and beyond
  • Work with stakeholders to agree and manage implementation increments to existing teams
  • Work with the Oversight teams to ensure any controls required to govern the new services are identified and incorporated into the operating model
  • Work with HR to plan and deliver recruitment and training required for Wealth
  • Work with the delivery team to plan and deliver appropriate testing and model office as part of the implementation approach
  • Work with the marketing and proposition teams to plan how the solution is taken out to customers incrementally, and ensure the operating model is in place to support the agreed take to market strategy
  • Create and drive the overall operational readiness plan, including metrics and reports to be able to track this pre and post implementation

Your skills and experience

The successful candidate would be expected to have strong operation leadership skills with a proven record of project participation and delivery ideally gained within a Wealth management business.

  • Detailed understanding of wealth management, in particular wealth management operations and servicing
  • Passionate about how digitalisation and fintech are transforming the sector
  • Detailed understanding of discretionary fund management, wealth management investments flows & operations
  • Experience of working in global wealth, asset management or digital advice ('robo-advice') organisations
  • Experience in evaluating and incorporating new capabilities eg from Fintech providers, to digitise the journey
