Due to continued growth in the EMEA Financial Reporting Group and to assist with numerous ongoing projects, two Financial Reporting Accountant positions are being created for a period of up to 12 months commencing September 2017.

The roles will contain a significant amount of high profile project work, requiring the Financial Reporting Accountant to partner across Finance and the broader business supporting key initiatives. The Financial Reporting Accountants will also act as entity controllers for both regulated and unregulated entities, with responsibility for maintaining the integrity of these entities' P&Ls and Balance Sheets. This will involve key monthly analytics to aid internal US GAAP management reporting as well as the production of quarterly board reports and regulatory returns as well as annual statutory accounts under IFRS. An experience of FCA regulatory returns is preferred but not essential.

Financial Reporting Accountant will also develop strong relationships with other parts of Finance and external auditors and build relationships with cross functional teams to enhance working relationships and improve analytical review on legal entities and the regulated group accounts.

  • Support the analysis and execution of high profile projects, often acting as the Finance point person' on these projects

  • Ensure that all statutory accounting deadlines are met; review of year end statutory accounts including liaison with auditors, tax & regulatory

  • Completion of monthly management and quarterly IFRS reporting packages ensuring that US to IFRS adjustments are appropriate and documented

  • Responsible for the production of legal entity accounts and regulatory returns

  • Provide added value commentary surrounding movements in the P&L and Balance Sheet on a legal entity level

  • Be key point of contact for their entities

  • Actively searching for process improvements within the role

  • Build relationships with cross functional teams (eg Revenue and expense accounting, corporate control, tax) to enhance working relationships and improve analytical review on legal entities

Skills:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in statutory accounts production and/or audit required
  • Strong awareness of global accounting standards, preferably IFRS and US GAAP
  • CA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified with a strong academic record
  • 2+ years post qualified experience; preferably in Financial Services
  • Ability to clearly and confidently communicate in verbal and written form, with all levels of the business
  • Self-starter, quick learner, team player, with an ability to adjust to change and the desire to take on responsibility is required
  • Experience of managing/leading projects
  • Organised and methodical, possessing attention to detail, ability to work under pressure within very tight deadlines is a must
