Description

Reporting to the Head of Client Control and Governance, this role will own and manage sales and client MI and reporting within HSS Europe including:

Sales MI and Reporting: responsible for the production of SBD and CS MI including tracking sales performance, AOP and impact (in conjunction with HSS Finance),

Client Management MI and Reporting: development of client dashboards and at risk reporting, and customer feedback reporting

Client Reporting: oversight of client reporting teams

Collaborates across management teams of SBD and CM to ensure on managing risks and controls and adherence to global standards across SBD and CM

Provide hands on direction, mentoring and coaching to those involved in the team

Work with the Senior Management Team in Europe to build long term objectives and strategies

Ensure resources are located and utilised productively

Develop talent for mutual HSBC and individual benefit

The role is the production of sales and client MI and reporting within the client control and governance function

The role holder is expected to educate, assist, lead, and motivate the team in support of the SBD and CM teams across Europe

Plays a key role in smooth development of accurate and timely MI and reporting

Works with SBD and CM management on tracking sales and client management performance

Provides data to SBD, CM and Product on sales performance and product roadmaps

Profile building - organise visibility of the role internally by representing the function in European finance calls as well as across the region on pipeline discussions around implementation

Help create a new operating model around reporting and MI while ensuring delivery of accurate and timely reporting and MI across SBD and CM in Europe

Provide meaningful MI to SBD and CM to drive prioritisation and effectiveness

Managing a set of diverse skills in the sales team to collectively deliver to the competing priorities of a region, countries, sectors and programmes

Work closely in collaboration across SBD and CM at all levels

Maintain the discipline required under HSBC's policies and procedures.

Effectively prioritise activities (and manage expectations) given competing demands from multiple key stakeholders

Continuously adopt a pragmatic, flexible and responsive approach to meet quality and time standards

Located either in HSBCs Edinburgh office, within the Client Control and Governance teams, the role will cover teams based in London, Edinburgh, Luxembourg and Ireland

Travel may be required within Europe and other international destinations, as necessary

The role will operate within the bounds of the HSS strategic plan

The role will involve daily interface across HSS SBD and CM, Finance

The role will be expected to manage the team with a number of differing and competing priorities

Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for new client sales which reconcile to financial targets

Ensure each product area is made aware of any operational impact of new business pipeline

Complete clean annual audit from commercial perspective, ensuring no repeat or high risk points are noted in annual report. Implement a plan on identifying any potential gaps with FIM and actioning same

Contribute to the effective leadership, management and development of the SBD and CM teas

Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant international and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alias, the Group Compliance policy.

Maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

A business degree or other qualifications relavent to the investment industry

A flair for numbers and analysis including presenting complex data sets and providing astute analysis

Proven track record in managing a team

Demonstrates abiliy to manage execuitives both internally and externally

Ability to face off against the broader bank and manage a diverse set of stakeholders

Understanding of the securities services business, with multi-sector, multi-geography and multi-sector knowledge

Excellent written and spoken skills, combined with the ability to present to both senior and large audiences.

Ability to cope with multiple priorities and coordinate the efforts of others in order to bring a process to closure

Excellent relationship management with colleagues

Ability to work effectively in a team and to tight deadlines

Understanding of varied product solutions required within the client base

Understanding of product and market risks

Sound understanding of risk management and mitigation techniques

Team player, excellent communicator and ability to work on own initiative
