Office 365 Technical Workstream Lead - Central London (Major Financial Services Company) - Central London
This is a 3 month rolling contract with expected duration of at least 18 months
Our client is a major financial services company with headquarters in Central London and operations around the globe. The client has a significant programme of change under way in IT. One of these projects is the implementation of Office 365, initially at one UK business unit, with subsequent expansion intended to the remaining business units.
This role presents an opportunity for a skilled technical leader with deep experience of Office 365 implementation at major companies to lead the technical components in the design and implementation of this project.
Required experience
- Experience of leading the technical design and implementation of Office 365 at major companies. This experience should be sufficiently broad to have been involved in and understand how to address the range of technical issues which can arise in an Office 365 implementation in a major company with a complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or work with a broad team of people, including direct reports, client resources, or other service provider resources as applicable.
- Expertise across all stages of the IT project cycle: assessment, design and implementation.
- Ability to drive change and accomplish challenging goals
- An ability to build effective relationships, developing and sustaining strong client relationships
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
Preferred experience
- Project Management on IT transformational change leading programmes, streams of work or change projects
Objectives
- The key initial objective of the project is to design and implement a working production Office 365 implementation.
- This design must address the needs of the broader rollout to all business units as the next phase of the project.
Scope
- This role focuses on all technical aspects of the Office 365 delivery. Interfaces are primarily with the individual technical teams responsible for recommending and implementing their specific components of the overall solution.
- Broader stakeholder management and engagement will be carried out by the Project Manager and so can be outside of the scope of this role.
Key responsibilities of this role
- Review all technical design recommendations of the individual technical areas (network, applications, messaging etc). Either confirm recommendations as the appropriater approach, or challenge and recommend alternative improved approaches.
- Provide technical guidance on the project timetable highlighting phasing of the deliverables to ensure maximum functionality is delivered as early as possible, while evaluating and recognising any realistic constraints.
- Identify gaps, dependencies and key challenges in the individual technical groups, or across the programme as a whole. Recommend how these should be addressed.
- Provide an overview across all technical aspects of the project to ensure all areas and all proposed solutions integrate well to deliver the project objectives.
- Document the high level technical design of the Office 365 implementation across all elements.
- Provide personal and team leadership to all technical teams to ensure all involved remain focused on delivering the project objective and timelines.
- Drive technical teams forward to ensure delivery of milestones to meet the agreed plan.
- Assisting the technical teams to drive the remediation efforts for the project.
