Description

Next Ventures is urgently looking for a SAP BI Manager for a role based in the Paris area.

Scope:

Lead Business Intelligence & Analytics Application Software Factory is the organization to Deliver BI Solutions across Europe.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible to manage a BI Competency Center and a BI Data Management group and to execute the Delivery of European BI Solutions. Manage a large portfolio of Projects across different Technologies to serve Business and IS ambitions in BI & Analytics.
- Secure the build of performant Datawarehouse, Datamarts, Reporting & Dashboard capabilities, Analytics (including advanced and predictive capabilities), Self-Service BI, Data exploration solutions and Information Delivery platforms (Portals, Mobile).
- Collaborates with Management and Peers (Business Relationship Manager, Enterprise Architecture, Service Delivery) to satisfy Business and IS strategic objectives.
- Supports tactical roadmap implementation for Business intelligence platform development. Create and enforce policies and standards.
- Implement Operational BI Roadmap execution with high quality metrics following IS standards.
- Ensure with internal & external resources support the delivery of decided Projects to build/enrich European BI platform.
- Provides Business Projects Sponsors and IS executive management with projects implementation progress.
- Responsible for Projects/Programs delivery around Business Intelligence/datamart within IS Business Intelligence Software Factory Team (IS BI SF).
- In this frame, he/she must understand the BI landscape and be a respected 'advisor' for the execution phases of the projects.
- Once Projects are approved, run Planning phase of Projects, to secure the Detailed Solution Design phase.
- Drive and monitor performance of execution phase with IS BI development team (can be Third Party). Secure Projects up to closing phase.
- Has overall responsibility for planning, directing and coordinating activities pertaining to application projects for a given Programme/Project in line with business objectives.
- Manages the team that develops and carries out internal IS projects for assigned business units.
Monitors project activities, ensuring the information accuracy and quality in line with Company Project Methodology.
- Manages a dynamic team of individuals who constantly search for creative ways to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet business needs, partly by capitalizing on emerging technologies and partly by adapting technologies to the needs of the business user.
- Elaborate project proposals, plans and scope to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of available departmental resources to various project phases.
- Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks.
- Organize and secure transition of SWF activities to be transferred to other IS organization (Transition to Service Delivery Teams)
- Produces status reports in collaboration with project team and adjust schedules or plans as required and provide technical advice to resolve problems.
- Communicates effectively information to the project stakeholders.
- Manages budget (actuals/forecast) and contracts.

Skills required:

- Strong project management skills
- Professional project management accreditation
- Clear and effective communication and reporting
- Fluent in English language
- Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to Business and IS teams
- Ability to understand and follow technical standards, methods and compliance
- Ability to lead teams which can consist of different vendors
- Ability to monitor master and detailed schedule
- Risk and issues management
- To lead workshops and meetings
- Planning and coordination of IS activities related to testing, cutover and roll-out
- To provide IS progress status reports
- To manage and coordinate the objectives and tasks assigned to the IS/IT team
- To follow costs, timescales and resources planned. Alert where these deviate from agreed tolerances
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing business projects using a structured Waterfall and/or Agile methodology

Additional Skills:

- Ability to work in an environment with Third parties/Off-shore development teams
- Ability to perform Business Analyst role when project circumstances dictate
- Ability to perform Systems Solutions Design when project circumstances dictate
- Experience with Business Intelligence framework and solutions

Additional technical skills:

- BI & Analytics solutions implementation within SAP BW/SAP HANA or Oracle Datawarehouse/INFORMATICA or BO or Tableau Software solutions

- Business knowledge in one or several below functional capabilities

Languages: English (another language is beneficial)
Location: Paris with some travel to other EU destinations when required
Duration: 6 months
