Role: Senior eRetail Planning Manager

Location: Surrey

Contract length: 6 months rolling

Day rate: Up to £450 via LTD

The purpose of the Senior eRetail Planning Manager role is to evolve the company's retail approach to become a data led, detailed focus on shopper dynamics, with a specific focus on omni channel bridges to optimise sell though.

The ideal candidate will come from a strong eCommerce background, with experience of working for a well-known retail brand, a large FMCG company or similar, ideally in a position such as Senior eCommerce manager, Head of eCommerce, Head of Online trading, Senior trading manager, etc.

Purpose of the role:

  • Identify and develop omni-channel category/shopper opportunities in Pan-European Accounts (PEAs).
  • Track category performance related to retailer presence vs. market/channel and report on opportunities.
  • Transform eTailer shopper experience and sell-out through optimising the digital shelf (Do-Learn-Do)
  • Enhance traffic/conversion opportunities by capturing wastage via coop and/or retailer offsite online assets.
  • Develop eTailer (integrated to stores where possible) toolkit/guidelines by account and channel type.
  • Forecast the impact of category drivers on the PEAs and measure pilot store impact vs. these drivers.
  • Demonstrate excellent omni-channel experience and a clear understanding of digital retail initiatives on the market.

Key requirements in order to be successful:

  • Significant experience of working in high performing retail sales & marketing teams in an online/eCommerce category planning/shopper/merchandising role
  • Experience working with a retailer or in a customer-supplier relationship type dynamic required
  • Proven organizational and political savvy with both internal and external partners
  • Retailer/Commercial experience required
  • Proven experience as category manager or similar role
  • Good understanding for how to apply business/category strategy and insights to impact sales
  • Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Experience in working with 3rd party vendors to effectively brief and implement projects
  • Able to develop good working relationships with client contacts
  • Solid understanding of how to communicate with stakeholders at all levels (global, regional & local)
  • Strong ability to translate numbers into impactful, concise messages via reports for a broad audience
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working in an online merchandising role at an operator or retailer or have experience working within an FMCG organisation adept in category management/shopper programs
