Global DC Pensions Strategy Support

A Leading Financial Services Firm are looking to hire an experienced Global DC Pensions Business Strategy Support Specialist to work in their London office.

Introduction to the project

The business have built significant defined contribution (DC) pension businesses sharing multiple common clients. Increasingly, multi-national companies are requesting global capabilities. As a result of which, we have embarked on a project to develop an integrated global vision for how we can service global DC clients across the business in the area of retirement benefits.

Project scope

Amongst multiple other initiatives to support the global DC strategy (out of scope of this project), we have prioritised key countries to potentially expand our DC presence.

For the key prioritised markets, we have agreed the appropriate go-to-market strategy and are now focused on assessing the implementation requirements as covered through the following objectives:

Strategic Objectives

1. Confirm suitable operating model in prioritised country

  • Confirm with key stakeholders go-to-market strategy selected in previous phase
  • Identify roles in the DC value chain, the business is expected to play vs. third party providers

2. Review third party administration requirements

  • Based on the go-to-market strategy developed, for activities to be outsourced
  • Review prioritised country's third party administration landscape
  • Develop assessment framework to evaluate third party administrators (in keeping with global strategy)
  • Assess key providers - across key dimensions to evaluate vs. business framework
  • Highlight any external constraints (eg regulatory) in working with third party administrators
  • Review opportunity to partner with best in class local providers in top priority client countries

3. Develop business case

  • Develop business case for entering the prioritised market
  • Assess incremental revenues, investments and operating costs expected to implement the go-to-market strategy in the prioritised market (support available from Finance resources - under guidance from the contract resource selected)
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • 4-6 years consulting experience ideally gained with a top tier consulting or a private equity firm
  • Experience of interacting with senior stakeholders, with a bias towards action oriented experience
  • Demonstrable analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills - strong command over Powerpoint and excel
  • Experience with developing business case templates and models
  • Ideally experience of working within the DC pensions industry or at least with exposure to the broader financial services industry.
  • Timelines and broader team

The project will be led by a Director in the Strategy & Planning team. We are currently seeking an experienced resource to support the implementation assessment for 2 prioritised markets

The delivery team will have access to local subject matter experts and business leadership in the markets being assessed.
