VP Capability and CTO
A Vice President of Capability and CTO is required to work on a Permanent opportunity for our Defence client based in Luton.
This is a permanent opportunity for a major defence client.
Overview of the VP Capability and CTO contract role
Due to internal moves within the Airborne and Space Systems Division there is the immediate need to recruit an EW Capability Vice President to provide leadership to the capability community ensuring the technology and products of the business are aligned to the capability required by the end-users and the business strategy.
The mandate for the successful candidate is to lead and manage the capability team and to act as a member of the EW leadership team contributing to the day to day oversight and future strategic direction of the business including aspects outside the capability responsibilities.
Ideal Experience:
- Degree educated or equivalent with career experience in this this field; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with international prime contractors, UK MOD and/or other ministries of defence. Experience will have been gained in the defence or defence - related sectors, such as homeland security, where engagement with "difficult" public sector organisations is the norm.
- Successful track record at a senior management level delivering leadership and strategic vision
- Coaching and mentoring a commercial team
- Operating in a global Matrix organization with complex reporting structures in an integrated Product/Project team environment
- Evidence of influencing EW and related national centres of excellence home and abroad
- Demonstrable experience of contributing to the broader business agenda in regard to commercial decisions, operations and customer delivery.
- Exhibiting social characteristics which engender trust, confidence and integrity
- Adopting a clear, unambiguous communication style

- Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence and is aware of impact on others.

- Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed.
The role is based in Luton, Bedfordshire - commutable from Watford, St Albans, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Stevenage with excellent access from London
