SAS Analyst - Credit Risk/Mortgage

We require a SAS Analyst to work on a Credit Risk/Operations project based in Chester. This is an initial 3 month contract which requires strong SAS programming skills for our financial services client. Previous experience in interpreting data and presenting findings and recommendation to senior management. Ideally Credit Risk/Mortgage, or remediation experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

SAS Analyst to work on a Credit Risk/Operations project based in Chester. This is an initial 3 month contract which requires strong SAS programming skills for our financial services client. Previous experience in interpreting data and presenting findings and recommendation to senior management. Ideally Credit Risk/Mortgage, or remediation experience.

  • Support Credit Operations from an analytical perspective and work with Change Management to ensure all Credit Ops impacts are fully understood.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of ad-hoc analysis requests through efficient SAS coding and a clear understanding of the Credit Ops processes and data platforms.
  • Development and production of data along with analysing and reporting on trends.
  • Interpret operational performance where appropriate and report observations ensuring the right outcomes are achieved for our customers.
  • Assist in the interpretation of external market activities and where appropriate provide analytical support to ensure Credit Operations are prepared for any change in the economic or regulatory environments.
  • Provide technical support for the less experienced analysts in the team.
  • Arranging workshops at Head of Function level
  • Drafting Proposals for Head of Function sign off
  • Governance activity in relation to reporting progress, dashboard and raising risks
  • Taking minutes at meeting

Skills required:

  • Experience of SAS programming and use a range of analytical tools and data sources to supply the Senior Leadership Team and Change colleagues with value-added analysis
  • Working within a Credit Operations or Credit Risk environment would be a benefit
  • Experience of Mortgage Arrears, remediation's or FCA remedial action plan
  • Experience working in an analytical environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Be able to interpret data and present findings and recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Gather business requirements
  • Experience of SAS programming.
  • Influencing others to help facilitate rapid decision making
  • Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
