Strategic Procurement Manager - London/Germany - 3-6 Month Contract - (MS Office, German Language, Procurement, Supply Chain)

My client are currently recruiting for a number of Strategic Procurement Managers for a 3-6 month initial contract based in London. The role will also involve some travel to Germany on a regular basis and the client are keen to get the people on site as soon as possible.

Role Information:

  • Lead a complex individual supply chain sub-category; including data and industry analysis; reports results to senior managers/business executives/directors.
  • Working as part of a Global Supply Chain who are located across Europe.
  • Meet with Stakeholder senior managers to understand business priorities and translate them into supply chain strategies; influences the industry or marketplace for complex categories.
  • Develops and utilizes supply chain, business, and financial modelling tools.
  • Lead Supplier selection activities. Drives supply base optimization.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of large, complex suppliers.
  • Partner with suppliers in forward thinking strategic development and relationship building
  • Provide input on risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management and operational strategies.
  • Assesses current and evolving business models in the marketplace.
  • Influences a large supply base across multiple business units.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent understanding of global procurement processes, industry, and complex suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent business application skills (eg, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint) and supply chain modelling skills. Strong knowledge, use and influence of procurement tools and applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities. Strong Project Management Skills
  • Advanced Negotiation Skills
  • Ability to close complex deals in a timely fashion.
  • Strong ability to develop suppliers strategically.
  • Excellent cultural knowledge of supplier locations
  • Excellent Industry and Market knowledge in function area
  • Candidates should be able to speak fluent German and be willing to travel to Germany on a regular basis.
