Human Resources leads the implementation of the Group's people strategy in line with business objectives. It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Human Resources team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as specialist support to the GM Global Vendor Manager and help to design the GM Vendor Management approach, both strategic and operational.
  • Day to day management of a structured internal governance process to deal with the selection and appointment of GM vendors, including liaison with procurement over contract negotiation and drafting;
  • Helping to undertake and assess the results of appropriate vendor due diligence and conducting risk assessments, monitoring and controlling vendor risks throughout the duration of the contract;
  • Helping to establish proper communication channels and information flows with vendors to minimise and mitigate risks;
  • Working to implement and manage the Bank's Supplier Management Framework (SPM);
  • Day to day management of vendor failure/incidents which may disrupt our operations/business continuity;
  • Identification and implementation of process and product improvements in our vendor relationships;
  • Monitoring of industry practices and trends and application of those to HSBC's approach to vendor relationships

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Functional Expertise - Successful and extensive track record of delivering Global Mobility.
  • Corporate Exposure - Experience of working within fast-moving, complex and demanding corporate environments where operational international issues have to be handled on a large scale, and with a need to multi-task and deal with ambiguity.
  • Operating in global markets - Experience of working at an operational level in international environments which drive a true international perspective. Commercial experience in different markets and cultures.
  • Managing Change - Experience of managing significant transformation and change programmes across dispersed entities, winning buy-in at the top and driving it against resistance in a global and matrixed environment.
  • Exposure to Corporate Governance - Experience of diverse regulatory frameworks in large multi-nationals.
  • Commercial Awareness - Demonstrate up to date knowledge of the external environment, the competitive landscape and broad macro-economic trends and an understanding of the use of this knowledge to create competitive advantage and to bring traditionally siloed functional specialists together and think holistically about human capital and organizational culture.
  • Consultancy Exposure - Experience of, or exposure to, leading consultancies that set stretch benchmarks.
  • Experience of Global Mobility and relationships with vendors in the Global Mobility space.
  • Experience of international expatriate personal tax and social security an advantage (preferably gained in a big 4 consulting environment).
  • Experience of delivering HR solutions through the design and application of process and technology. Defining and using relevant and competitive HR metrics.
  • Ability to demonstrate facilitation & stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of operational risk and experience in identifying & implementing controls to mitigate such risks.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a Matrix environment with conflicting demands.
  • Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve challenges and issues.
  • Ability to make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC's values, reputation and commercial interests.
  • Experience of managing global vendors including Quality Management, RFP development/vendor selection and Service level measurement.
