Description

We are looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst in Brussels to join our team in the General Criminal Law and Judicial Training unit of the Directorate General Justice and Consumers (DG Just), within their General Criminal Law and Judicial Training unit.

DG Just is in charge of EU policy on justice, consumer rights and gender equality.

Your Role

  • Be the expert in business analysis, technical requirements analysis and quality assurance
  • Assist in the drafting, analysis and review of detailed technical specifications and related project deliverables
  • Study the relevant project documentation
  • Contribute to the upcoming extension of the project with drafting contribution to deliverables such as project initiation document, vision document, project specific document, planning, risk register, etc.
  • Review deliverables submitted by an external Contractor
  • Contribute to agenda of various project meeting such as contractor's meeting, Expert meetings and other ad hoc meetings
  • If required, contribute and follow up of some support activities such as user inquiries, incidents resolution, statistics, change request, impact assessment of changes, etc.

Your Profile

  • You are an experienced IT Business Analyst, having done business analysis for at least 12 years
  • You have proven track record in IT project development
  • You are able to work pro-actively, independently and find and propose solutions to problems
  • You master RUP, UML, MS Visio or equivalent project methodology.
  • You must possess knowledge in IT development standards and in the interconnection of Information Systems
  • You have good knowledge or background on RDBMS (such as Oracle) and on SQL
  • You have experience dealing with the Architectural teams and are able to assist, evaluate and challenge to-be implementation, web services, etc.
  • You are able to liaise and to communicate well - orally and in writing - with many stakeholders, notably Member State Authorities and to report clearly and effectively to management
  • You have an excellent knowledge of English. French knowledge would be an asset
  • If you have some know-how in fingerprint and fingerprint matching technologies, this would also be considered an asset

The position is offered as a long term freelance contract, initially for one year, with a high probability of further extensions.
