Job Title: Reconciliation Accounting Technician

Pay Rate: £250 - £300 per day Umbrella
Role Purpose
The Reconciliation Accountancy Technician will work within the Tax Accounting and Revenue Analysis Team working to bring all outstanding reconciliations up to date, ensuring that any discrepancies are identified/resolved and ensuring that there are effective and ongoing controls in place.
Responsibilities/Tasks
- Working with a small team to bring a number of bank and suspense reconciliations up to date
- Working on monthly ledger routines to provide assurance on accounting data
- Ensuring that discrepancies are identified, resolved and logged for audit purposes
- Putting in place effective ongoing controls for each reconciliation
- Bringing up to date and then maintaining guidance notes on how to undertake the reconciliations
- Resolving any problems identified with processes
- Working with the wider accounts production team to either assist in delivering key accounting information or to assist in resolving issues/concerns with accounting system processes
- Being an effective and pro-active team member.

The post holder will ensure efficient, effective, timely and accurate delivery of areas of responsibility as delegated by the Team Leader
Essential skills/knowledge
- Ability to communicate technical accounting concepts clearly and concisely;
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills;
- Advanced MS Excel skills;
- Excellent planning and organisational ability;
- Ability to work without close supervision;
- High level of accuracy and experience of meeting tight deadlines;
- Innovative with experience of continuous accounting improvements;
- Good at technical accounting problem resolution.
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working in a fast paced technical accounting environment with large financial systems
- Working within the Public Sector using SAP systems
- Part Qualified CPFA or AAT and/or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
