Manufacturing Engineer - Contract - 3 months - Gloucestershire
Job Title: Contract Manufacturing Engineer
Length: 3 months initially
Rate: Competitive - Subject to experience
Location: Gloucestershire
We are recruiting for one of our key clients based in Gloucestershire that require a Manufacturing Engineer on a contract basis to assist in the Operations department.
Huxley have met with the client multiple times and previous contractors have reported of a very good working environment.
Position Summary (main job functions):
- To interpret customer drawings and bills of material, engineering the processes and documentation for manufacture and solving problems encountered by production.
- To attend Contract Reviews for any new business or jobs of high complexity or significant volume.
- To project manage new designs and prototypes.
- To complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) as required by Customers.
- To provide engineering design and advice where required to ensure best methods and practice are followed.
- To provide information to enable quotations to be given to Customers by required dates.
- To liaise with Customers and Sales as part of quotation and design processes, as well as facilitating the provision of clear direction and information to the production teams to enable understanding of requirements and expectations.
- To gain the trust, confidence and co-operation of colleagues through good communication and people skills.
- To identify and implement process improvements as necessary.
- To design jigs and fixtures as required.
- To ensure that all elements of processes and procedures, applicable to engineering, are adhered to.
- Investigation of operational inefficiencies and implementation of robust corrective action plans that identify the root cause of the problem and eliminate recurrence.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in AutoCAD, or other electronic drawing packages of a similar type.
- Panel wiring/harnesses/cable assembly experience.
- Familiarity with crimping and soldering processes.
- Interpretation of schematics and wiring diagrams.
