Role: SC Business Development Manager (Maritime, Land and Weapon Business)
Location: Farnborough - with some travel
Duration: 6 months
Role Purpose:
To develop and win profitable business in the Maritime, Land and Weapon business area.
This will be achieved through development and ownership of customer relationships, mostly within the UK and their delivery prime, although there may be an occasional requirement to develop opportunities from non-defence and overseas customers.
Key Accountabilities:
- To identify and develop new business propositions.
- Achievement of specific sales targets based on a particular domain/capability or product. Sales target typically up to £0.5M comprising a portfolio of lower value opportunities (typically
- Collaborative working with wider sales teams to support and manage Client initiatives.
- To support the growth and development of the portfolio of sales working with the delivery stream ensuring ability to achieve on promise.
- To ensure that own performance positively impacts the performance of the wider sales and delivery teams.
- To support the management of internal and external stakeholders.
- To demonstrate value-add selling in all opportunities and activities.
- To support the development and delivery of the sales pipeline growth.
Typical knowledge, experience and personal qualifications:
- Degree qualified.
- A team player with experience in delivering as part of a team.
- Able to demonstrate clear and credible communications, both written and verbal, that will support customer relationship building.
- An understanding of sales concepts, principles and tools.
- Ability to think innovatively.
- Awareness of industry and customers
- Awareness of other functional disciplines related to selling (eg finance/commercial/delivery)
Due to the nature of the Project, candidates are required to hold a valid SC clearance or be willing/eligible to undergo the process.
