Description

We are looking for a Category Sourcing Specialist/Buyer to join a market-leading telecoms company for a contract position based in Dublin.

Role Purpose:
Sourcing is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to leverage relationships across the enterprise to achieve best total value. Category management strategies and execution, supplier relationship management, negotiation, risk management and supply base performance management. The successful candidate will be a dynamic professional with a transformation approach to Sourcing, with the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience to design and execute strategies in a global environment supporting the Managed Services Category.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Reporting to the Category Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for the Managed Services Category. Leading global cross functional teams in the development, communication and approval of sourcing strategies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that category strategy's result in and generate roadmaps of savings and value streams, and where appropriate, innovation opportunities;
  • Continual monitoring of internal customers and supply markets for changes that may impact the sourcing strategy;
  • Year-on- year financial accountability for assigned category's with respect to price movement;
  • Responsible for leading global cross functional teams through the supplier selection process and for the approval of selected suppliers by stakeholders. The team-based supplier selection process is inclusive of identification of potential suppliers, RFx development and execution, proposal evaluation against business requirements and total cost of ownership, and supplier selection recommendation. Upon stakeholder approval, the successful negotiation and finalisation of all contractual documentation;
  • Responsible for negotiation planning and contracting with suppliers, ensuring that agreements reflect the companies needs globally.
  • Responsible for executing supplier relationship management activities for key assigned suppliers within the assigned category's, with oversight regarding supplier relationship management.
  • The CSE will also be expected to take on additional projects as needed to support business requirements.

Person Specification:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong negotiation skills and cost management practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced matrixed global environment
  • Project Management in complex multi-project and multi-geography environment
  • Lean Six Sigma experience, desired
  • Proficiency with SAP & Microsoft Suite applications (including PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
