Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting Financial Analyst for 6 months contract initially with possible extension.

Job Description:
- The role can be deployed across the entirety of the Finance function, either into Project Control or Finance and Accounting Roles. As such the role will be responsible for the execution of designated tasks and processes and the delivery of outputs to ensure that costs are identified, managed and controlled, providing support as necessary to ensure outputs meet cost identification and reporting requirements, including those of DE&S and Departmental finance systems.
- In a Finance and Accounting roles you will typically be responsible for General Ledger management, financial statements, posting entries to the GL, ensuring compliance with financial accounting treatment policy and reporting standards, and maintenance of the chart of accounts. In addition, there is responsibility for the consistency and accuracy of Bespoke Trading Entity and Equipment Plan management accounts, planning and budgeting and in-year management performance reporting (including population of MOD financial system).
- Within Project Control roles you will provide Cost Control experience for Delivery teams with regard to Financial Planning, In-Year Management, Risk, accruals and Business case assurance ensuring project/work package budgets are accurately captured and maintained within the appropriate financial and MI systems and produce regular forecast of outturn covering the in-year position and the estimate at completion (EAC) and that these are accurately reported in Departmental submissions such as the Annual Budgeting Cycle and Quarterly Cost Reviews
