Description

Pontoon Solutions has an exciting opportunity available for Contract Manager to efficiently manage a range of contractual agreements for the supply of goods and services to their clients' Engineering Field force across the UK.

The successful resource will also ensure that these goods and services are provided in line with the agreements and represent best value, hence supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the business as a whole.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operates on a self-sufficient basis but in support of the Contract Portfolio Manager.
  • Develop service requirements and supply arrangements with and through key business partners and stakeholder groups.
  • Determine specification of service requirements.
  • Contribute to all key strategic and commercial decisions, plans, budgeting and forecasting (where specified) to help drive business performance ensuring all financial aspects are considered.
  • Perform cost analysis reviews, identifying and monitoring cost saving opportunities across both the direct and indirect cost base driving internal and external cost reductions.
  • Define, agree and develop obligatory KPIs and monitoring of supplier contract and commercial performance (tracking, reporting, influencing behaviours).
  • Assess through contract cost modelling tools, the benefits, financial risks and impacts of existing and potential new contracts (opportunities) to contribute in delivering value.
  • Undertake and support commercial negotiations to optimise terms for the business and resolve high-level disputes.
  • Manage the policies and processes for compliance and audit; ensuring delivery by suppliers and internal stakeholders of the policies and procedures
  • Influence both business management decisions and individual behaviours to better manage service requirements, service utilisation and budgetary controls.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of cost modelling tools, techniques and principles.
  • Breadth and depth of contract management knowledge, including understanding key commercial, regulatory and economic drivers for driving greater value from contractual arrangements.
  • Experience in working with and understanding KPI and other management data and the ability to analyse and summarise key messages for a senior audience
  • Relationship management experience, driving and delivering commercial value and supplier performance through major contracts.
  • Developing and managing assurance processes in a commercial environment, ensuring that risks are appropriately mitigated.
  • Experience in both decision making in commercial and/or technical roles that have positively impacted on business performance.
  • Significantly developed capabilities to project and team membership/leadership. The individual will be able to demonstrate knowledge and use of recognised project management techniques to manage/lead projects.
  • Track record of building and enhancing business relationships with key internal and external interfaces
  • Demonstrable experience of commercial negotiations.
  • Experience in evaluating supplier capabilities to meet business requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable communicating with impact to a wide cross section of the business including senior management.
  • Directing/Leading discussions, steering agendas, challenging the status quo and effectively delivering difficult messages to parties inside and outside the business.
  • Experience of working within a team as a team player and demonstrating the ability to be unselfish in the pursuit of the team objective

Qualifications Required:

  • Educated to degree/HND level.
  • NEBOSH certificate desirable.
  • Strong appreciation of contract and commercial law.
  • Understanding of all business procurement procedures, policies and background legislation.
  • Understanding of the safety issues, technical issues and operational challenges
  • Appreciation of Health and Safety legislation requirements and its impact on operational activities.
  • Understanding of site operational issues is an asset related environment.
  • Completely mobile, being able and willing to travel throughout the UK, and overseas as required.
