The SAP HANA Consultant, under the direction of the BI Project Delivery Manager, will be required to play a key role in the feasibility phase of a SAP HANA project.
The main deliverables of this phase being:-
- Documentation of critical and future reporting requirements
- Documentation of metrics required (including the enterprise definition)
- Data quality assessment
- Design and development of initial metrics and example reporting
- Input into the planning and prioritisation for the main execution phase
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
- Work closely with the business to confirm future/critical reporting/metric requirements to address the business requirements including prioritisation.
- Key contributor to project documentation eg to capture detailed business requirements including high level design and planning for future phases.
- Development of the HANA project detailed scope, including: -
- Interview stakeholders (business developers/report consumers) to identify key reporting requirements, metrics and prioritization of deliverables for next phase
- Capture detailed business requirements using existing documentation standards to be used as input into the execution phase
- Assess data quality of identified metrics and propose options to monitor/manage data quality going forward
- Develop/implement initial metrics and example reporting
- Preparation activities and documentation for the execution phase
Core skills required:
- Functional/technical proficiency with demonstrated experience in SAP HANA Analytics design, development and implementation with mainly non SAP data sources
- Experience in developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing practical, sustainable business solutions.
- Strong configuration and design skills including data cleansing, data quality and data consolidation.
- Business Objects and Microsoft PowerBI skills are desirable
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Rail industry and/or asset intensive (mining, utilities, transportation) experience preferred.
