Description
The primary responsibility of the Database Administrator is to build and maintain all database systems. This position reports to Manager - Database Operations in the Information Technology Operations Department and coordinates with other Information Technology departments and vendors. This position also assists during production incidents and resolution, which can occur anytime 24x7.
- Install upgrades, and maintain database systems.
- Manage system storage for the databases and applications.
- Execute performance monitoring, reporting and tuning of database systems.
- Manage and maintain back-ups and recovery process and procedures.
- Install and maintain database server, replication and client environments.
- Develop, review, and tune scripts, trigger, and store procedures.
- Assist in the design of database structures, packages and procedures.
- Manage security access and controls.
- Assist with production incidents and resolutions, including root cause analysis and recommendations.
- Implement database reporting and continuous improvement.
- Ensure audit trails are maintained through the use of manual or automated systems.
- Perform other job related duties as requested.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and commercial experience.
- At least 5 years of database administration experience in a commercial environment.
- Working knowledge of Sybase ASE, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, DB2.
