A new 6 month contract opportunity is currently available for a SQL Developer to join our Client, a very well recognised and reputable Global Organisation, based in Brisbane CBD.
The Systems Developer SQL will be required to perform QA of developed solutions and ensure proper user acceptance testing (UAT) of finished solutions.
Additionally, you will be required to interact regularly with internal and external business clients to capture and understand reporting and data service requests, will help define and clarify requirements, define and propose appropriate solutions and provide guidance for development of the reporting solution with the assistance of a development team.
Further to this, the SQL Developer will be tasked with the following key responsibilities as below;
- Develop reporting and data solutions following Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology;
- Identify opportunities for self-service reporting and educate the business on self-service reporting capabilities;
- Perform quality review (QA) of new and existing reporting solutions;
- Coordinate end user review and acceptance (UAT) of the developed solutions; and
- Support IT goals and objectives by working closely with management team to deliver value to the business.
- Work with the business teams to review, understand and prioritize reporting and data requests;
- Analyse reporting and data requests from the business, gather requirements and define detailed technical specifications for reports;
- Analyse data and data requirements using complex SQL queries;
- Ensure data quality and match-back to core systems transaction results;
- Develop reports as per the defined development methodologies.
To be carefully considered for this role, we will be seeking to engage a candidate demonstrating the following key technical competencies, and personal attributes;
- Expertise in end user Report design, development, QA and implementation following the SDLC process;
- Experience and expertise with using complex SQL queries to analyse data within a relational database;
- Development experience with one of the following BI Reporting tools: Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SpotFire, Business Objects, etc.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience);
- Excellent interpersonal, engagement, verbal, and written communication skills;
- Ability to communicate technical details to technical and non-technical resources. Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels and functions across the business;
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills with strong ability to multi-task and shift focus as necessary to meet deadlines;
- Experience working with business and end-user teams to gather BI requirements and define BI technical specifications with 2+ years' experience as a lead analyst or developer is a strong plus;
- Strong understanding of relational databases architectures;
