Description

COMPLIANCE OFFICER/ANALYST

The primary responsibility of the role is to conduct daily surveillance of business conducted to identify activity which may indicate market abuse as defined in the FCA's Code of Market Conduct (MAR), breaches of various exchange and trading platform rules or activity which may be considered detrimental to the integrity of the markets.

This is a 6 month contract position, based in London City and pays up to £300 daily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake daily post trade surveillance monitoring on a timely basis to identify activity which may indicate possible market abuse or market integrity issues, ensuring that all analysis is completed to the highest standard and is appropriately documented.
  • Conduct communications monitoring which includes but might not be limited to voice calls, email and other forms of electronic messaging.
  • Proactively identify enhancements to the firm's surveillance program, policies and procedures.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES ASSESSMENT

  • Good knowledge of the FCA's Code of Market Conduct (MAR) and the Market Abuse Directive.
  • Detailed knowledge of market abuse surveillance scenarios and analytical methods to assess trade information.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Bloomberg capabilities in supporting analysis of surveillance alerts.
  • Proactive work ethic to identify and develop enhancements to the firms surveillance systems and controls.
  • Detailed knowledge of equity markets/exchange and trading platform market conduct rules.
