World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Contracts Specialist Subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract. This company was recognised as a Sunday Times Top 30 Best Big Companies to Work For in 2017 and is a leader in its industry.
This role would suit a candidate who comes from a Contracts Specialist/Commercial Manager/Contracts Manager type role from the Defence or Aerospace industry.

Contract Duration: 3 months (initially and then ongoing thereafter)
Hourly Rate: Totally Negotiable

Security Information: Please Note you must be eligible for SC Security Clearance (unfortunately due to security restrictions for this role, the candidate will need to be a British National with no dual nationality and must have resided in the UK for at least 4 of the past 5 years).

Contracts Specialist Job Description:

An opportunity has arisen for a contracts professional to join the newly formed indirect procurement team. Working in an international context, the successful candidate will bring their experience and knowledge to create and negotiate effective contracts across a varied and interesting portfolio.
The successful candidate will drive improvements in the company's indirect procurement contracting strategy and operations, working with a highly motivated and professional procurement and legal team.

The Contracts Specialist will be responsible for providing contractual expertise to the UK indirects team to ensure that the company has appropriate and robust contracts in place. The indirect team covers a wide range of goods and services - providing stimulating challenges particularly in the facilities/building; HR and IM domains where new contract models are emerging.

Specific elements of the role will cover:

* Provide contractual expertise and support for the drafting of the contracts, agreements, and amendments to the indirect team in the UK;
* Support and provide senior expertise in negotiation, claim management and the performance of contracts and orders;
* Ensure overview and coordination with peers in the other NatCOs, searching for synergies and contractual consistency between contracts across NATCOs whilst taking into account national law specificities as well as procurement categories specificities;
* Ensure and spread lessons learnt and best practices in close collaboration with the indirect procurement management team across the indirects procurement organisation; and
* Working with the management team, identify and organize training and awareness sessions to raise the capability of the indirect team.

Skills and Experience:

*Contracts professional with significant experience and capability in putting together complex contracts
*Skilled negotiator, ideally with experience of working internationally
*Good communicator who is quickly able to establish their credibility
*Educated either to degree level or with an equivalent professional qualification
