Finance Manager - Financial Planning - Qualified Accountant

Location:Windsor with Travel to Manchester every two weeks

Rate: £350 p/d - 12 month Contract

Our client, a leading organisation is looking for a Qualified Finance Manager to work alongside the Finance Director to look at financial planning processes across two divisions.

Responsibilities for the Finance Manager:

  • Assisting in the financial planning process for Credit & Collections ensuring business engagement and input and providing challenge on assumptions and drivers
  • Communication with the FP&A and Working Capital and Cash teams during and post month-end to understand the financial results compared with plan for Bad Debt Charge and OPEX
  • Ensuring the business understand the month end financial results and the key drivers for variances and working with the business owners to link financial and operational insight
  • Attend key meetings with the business to communicate financial results and progress on initiatives and to understand the key focus areas of C&C - this includes MBR, Portfolio Quality Review and C&C Governance meeting
  • Work with the business and FP&A to help support the creation of robust business cases to calculate the impacts of projects on the cost of debt, working with business owners on gathering assumptions and inputs to translate into financial impact, ensuring any key changes to assumptions and delivery and understood and communicated
  • Draw on FP&A forecasts and reports, FC actual and judgements, external data and experience to articulate the relationship between drivers, interventions and strategy on the one hand and on financial and operational metrics on the other
  • Action against standard analysis, insight and challenge from FP&A to support and influence decisions, empowering the business to self-serve appropriate data to inform decisions independently
  • Carry out non-standard/bespoke analysis and modelling to support business decision making
  • Take monthly outputs from R&P plans and compare these to the latest version of the business cases & change trackers, to highlight differences, ideally highlighting the impact of strategic initiatives on in flight BC's.
  • Identify performance improvement interventions and design means of implementing associated changes. Facilitate relevant parts of the business to implement changes
  • Support the Director, Finance Director or Finance Partner in reviewing investments and develop means of articulating value of investment, facilitating and leading relevant parts of the business to deliver business cases.

Skills Required:

  • Proven Finance Manager background - ideally for a global/large organisation
  • Qualified ACMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Ability to pro-actively develop positive and highly effective working relationships, influencing management on delivery and relevant strategy
  • Strategic thinking - able to step away from the detail and combine data with external trends and market data to see the bigger picture
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to provide check and challenge to the business in their decision making in an effective and constructive manner
  • A demonstrated ability in commercial analysis and evaluation, with strong commercial acumen to support delivery of business goals
  • Strong ability to summarise complex matters and communicate effectively to influence a range of audiences
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment and engage resource across the business and finance to deliver work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify, assess and analyse organisation wide operational risks and controls
  • Bring best practice from other organisations to ensure that a continuous improvement culture exists within the team.
