Spring Technology are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our leading clients.
Based in Leamington Spa on an initial 3-6 month contract the client is looking for an experienced Category Range Planner.
Role Purpose
*The role will provide the ability to create a bespoke local range element for each branch to service the needs of their national contract and local customers, in addition to the national core range.
*Responsible for maximising the performance of the range within the Branch network. Working closely with a range of internal stakeholders in order to deliver effective range modelling and plans in order to meet targets.
Key Accountabilities
*Assisting with the development and implementation of branch merchandising plans in order to maximise the performance of the Category.
*Working closely with merchandising, adapting the plans in order to maximise sales.
*Working closely with the Range Category Manager in order to ensure that the range is performing to optimal level.
*Ensuring ranges take into account differences in the regional infrastructure and technical equipment, as well as ensuring ranges are adapted to reflect the needs and requirements of regional customers.
*Working with Category teams to ensure that plans take into account all relevant and up-to-date information regarding current product ranges.
Key Experience and Skills.
*Working knowledge of range management, appreciation of Inventory, merchandising and branch operations
*Analytical skills essential - financial modelling and range modelling experience would be an advantage
*Understanding of consumer activity and behaviours
*Market awareness
*Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlook up, Filters)
*Organisational planning skills
*Financial acumen and commercial awareness - effective numeracy skills in order to be able to deliver maximum margins
*Cross-functional communication and collaboration
