GIS Analyst
Brief Overview
We are currently seeking 2 experienced GIS professionals to work with a client in Dublin. The role will be an initial 12 month contract.
The role
Carrying out core GIS tasks such as data preparation, data collection and management, data analysis and output with a focus on ArcGIS online and Portal. They will be required to liaise with external organisations, document progress and issues and report to senior management, so excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
The GIS Professional/Analyst must have:
- At least 3 years GIS Experience.
- In excess of 2 years of industry experience working with ESRI technology. Specifically ESRI ArcGIS Desktop (10.3 onwards) and ArcGIS online. ArcGIS online experience should include Story Maps and a range of application templates.
- A 3rd level qualification eg degree/HND or equivalent in a subject which included a significant element of GIS.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with data management and data collation projects with strong QA/QC elements are extremely desirable.
- Prior experience in managing projects from initial engagement and requirements gathering to design, data management and delivery via the ESRI technology suite including ArcGIS Online and Portal.
- GIS knowledge including GIS concepts and the ESRI technology stack.
- Microsoft Office 2010.
- The resource will work as part of a mixed team so good communication, team working and interpersonal skills are critical as are excellent written and verbal communication skills. Note that the resource should be fluent in spoken and written English.
- The resource should also be capable of working on their own initiative.
Characteristics of this resource will include:
- ArcGIS for Server, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS/Pro at current revision levels.
- General application of GIS technology and data.
- Cartography and map representation.
- Design, implementation, test and commissioning of Web Services using ESRI ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS online.
- Expertise in best current practice in data management and analysis.
- Knowledge and experience of relational database products and their application to GIS solutions.
- Implementation of spatial databases using GeoDatabase schema methods.
- Skills transfer and training.
- On-site problem solving and development.
- Experience of completing tasks to achieve time, cost and quality targets.
