Senior Quantity Surveyor required for 10-month contract with public sector client based in Glasgow/East Renfrewshire
An opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who will assist in providing a comprehensive, high quality, cost effective and efficient Quantity Surveying service encompassing all aspects ranging from feasibility studies through to negotiation of final accounts. The role will also assist in securing implementation of the client's Capital and Revenue Building Programme within budget and to programme.
Essential Skills
- Preparation of cost estimates, cost plans, and tender documentation in conformity with the prevailing Standard Method of Measurement 7 and the New Rules for Measurement.
- Knowledge of RICS Professional Practice and Guidance (esp. the 'Black Book' guidance).
- Familiar with use and administration of current SBCC, JCT and NEC conditions of contract.
- Understands and is aware of provisions of CDM 2015 regulations.
- Has experience of public sector environment, in particular, familiarity with concept of appliance of Financial Regulations, Standing Orders for Contracts, and Scheme of Delegation.
- Is familiar with CADMeasure, CATO, Masterbill or similar computerised take-off and billing and administration suites.
- Comfortable with direct from measurement from CAD drawings
- Understanding of NBS suite for preparation of preliminaries.
- Familiar with all mainstream procurement processes - ie Single stage selective tendering, two-stage tendering, measured term contracts, etc
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to contribute to the development of innovative design solutions.
- Valid CSCS card.
