Description

Flood, Coastal and Risk Management - Environment Agency - Contract - Bristol - £400 per Day

  • Delivering work by planning, tracking, gathering, maintaining, quality-assuring and analysing data/information
  • Delivery of low to medium risk multi-disciplinary projects and/or activities to time cost quality ensuring successful outcomes are achieved
  • Applying up to date, technically sound knowledge to make decisions and provide sound briefing and guidance
  • Producing clear, concise and persuasive written material and presenting to/briefing more senior staff, colleagues and customers
  • Procuring the services of a Learning & Development contractor/expert who will work with you to design, develop and produce a suitable suite of internal learning options and training for practitioners based on our current Effective Business Engagement guidance
  • The successful candidate will be supported by colleagues in our National Learning and Development team and by the subject matter expert
  • Progress a business critical piece of work that will lay the foundations for management of strategic and local business engagement activity going forward
  • Led and supported the Environment Agency National Stakeholder team and the subject matter expert
  • Lead this project up to the end of March 2018 when the suite of learning options and training material needs to be made fully available to relevant staff
  • The products developed for the business will help staff to improve their knowledge, skills and approaches to engaging with local and national businesses
  • The project directly contributes to the delivery of priority 300,000 homes better protected from flooding target and also to the delivery of future programmes across the Environment Agency

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Self-starter who enjoys working at pace with minimal supervision.
  • Passion for effective business engagement, partnership working and delivery.
  • Ideally have recent partnership working/effective business engagement experience and be comfortable initiating, influencing and developing projects from concept to delivery.
  • Set and deliver high work standards, demonstrating the drive to meet targets.
  • Prioritise and organise tasks and resources to ensure timely achievement of results.
  • Must have a good track record of working with others to achieve results.
  • Quickly identify and address the needs of customers, delivering what is promised and ensuring that they are satisfied with the outcomes.
  • Consult and collaborate with customers and partners effectively through awareness raising, education and combined projects, ensuring buy-in to initiatives and the beneficial promotion of duties and policies.
  • Seek to achieve a 'win-win' outcome and develop the relationship with the person(s) being influenced.
  • Presenting a case in a convincing and attractive way that will win people over, encouraging them to follow plans willingly; often succeeding where logic and reason alone would fail.

Please note that the client has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and where a worker elects to provide their services through an intermediary (such as a personal services company) then income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.

Due to this contract being inside IR35, this contract will be run through an Umbrella company.
