Senior Accountant - 4 months - London
Global telecommunications for who will be taking on a role on the ERP integration team.
Skills/Experience:
- Experience within a similarly sized entity.
- Telecommunications experience will be useful.
- Management and Financial accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles.
- A qualified accountant.
- Experience working with a large ERP system such as Oracle or SAP.
- IFRS, US GAAP or Dutch reporting experience would be advantageous.
- Dutch language skills would be advantageous but not essential.
- Microsoft Office - strong Excel skills.
- Candidate should have strong attention to detail, good communication skills, be a team player and be self-motivated with a "hands-on" approach to getting things done.
- The ability to organize tasks effectively, be logical, to plan and prioritise and a desire to seek continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly accounting and reporting responsibilities under US GAAP for two Dutch entities.
- Monthly EMEA capex reporting and capopex accounting.
- Preparation of monthly variance commentary for accounting movements.
- Working with EMEA FP&A to assist with commentary against forecast.
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, as per the Group timetable using Blackline.
- Dutch trading entity audit file preparation and KPMG local office fieldwork in Amsterdam.
- Monthly VAT returns and periodic statistical returns.
- Working with the EMEA tax team on annual tax computations, CIS returns, ad-hoc VAT issues and preparing a B2B profit forecast in November.
- Assisting the Internal Audit team with any ad hoc queries.
- Working with the other Finance and Business teams to ensure consistency of accounting.
- Assisting with ad hoc projects and tasks, including working with the Senior Manager.
