Description

Electrical Supervisor required by my client a global engineering organization based in Birmingham for an initial 12 month contract with view to extend. The rate will be hourly and negotiable depending on experience. We will be looking to get interviews done in December to be ready for a January Start.

In this role as an Electrical Supervisor you will be expected to co-ordinate resources of people, materials and machinery, and to follow standard operating policies. Assist in the achievement of production targets whilst maintaining high levels of quality, safety, and environmental awareness within the department.

Responsibilities

*Undertake comprehensive training programme to be able to run/understand every aspect of the Electrical Engineering Department.
*Organise and supervise the members of the shift/team, to ensure optimum plant utilisation and efficiency as set out in the department's operating target.
*Implement the planned maintenance programme, whilst monitoring machine performance.
*Monitor spares in stock and replace as required.
*Install and commission all new equipment.
*Ensuring that the departmental training programmes are organised, maintained and recorded. This includes organising induction and safety training for all new starters.
*Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/accidents and hazards are duly reported.
*Implement and maintain the Company Safety Systems and Quality Systems as detailed in their manuals.
*Maintain an administrative and orderly system for the section.
*Carry out first stages of Disciplinary procedure, in conjunction with the HR department.
*Attend any further training courses as required.
*Undertake any other reasonable duties and tasks as commensurate with the position.

Requirements

*HNC/Technical Standard qualification
*Significant related work experience
*Intermediate standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
*Must have good attention to detail and be a Team worker
*Must be well organised, efficient, and have good communication skills.

Desirable

*If you have a BMS Controls background or experience this will be very beneficial.
*17th Edition IEE Regulations Certification is also beneficial
