Description
Harvey Nash's public sector client is recruiting for a Senior Procurement Specialist on an initial 9 month contract. You will be working on a 5 year Procurement Strategy and identifying where and how procurement savings can be delivered through improved relationship and contract management practices. The role will also involve establishing strong contract management disciplines, including identification, training and support to Contract Managers, across the organisation.
Essential skills:
* CIPS qualified and have a good up to date knowledge of contract law and EU Procurement Directives as well as an understanding of financial statements and accounting.
* Experience of public sector procurement in particular technical procurement knowledge of various categories, including ICT and PSU.
* Understanding of Government policies and issues relating to procurement, environmental awareness, sustainability, diversity and equality.
* Experienced in best practice and good governance procedures for public sector procurement
* Highly organised with a logical, methodical approach to work.
* Good knowledge and experience of a wide range of markets, commodities and services.
